Fruit Punch Designs was started by two friends, Pam and Julia, who
were looking to have some fun and get creative. We’ve designed what
we call “whimsical, wearable art.” Our inspiration came from
Nantucket Island where we had each spent many summers. Shopping and
fashion are full time occupations for many islanders whose taste
runs from the extremely conservative to the over-the-top unique. We
thought why not combine the two?
The idea for our handbags is a funky and whimsical twist on the very traditional Nantucket Lightship baskets. Women on Nantucket have carried the Lightship baskets as handbags for decades and antique baskets by certain designers are coveted by antique lovers and fashionable dressers alike. We’ve spiced up the baskets by decorating them with beads, fringes, ribbons and trim in bright colors. The Twist handbag is an open basket fitted with a coordinating drawstring lining. Our Cosmopolitan handbags have covers adorned with flowers, jewels, and even frogs! We offer monogrammed styles of both the Twist and Cosmopolitan with single initials or custom 3 letter monograms. Many of our handbags are one of kind, so you’ll be the only one at the party with your unique bag. Our belts are also a combination of the traditional and the far-out. We make all of our belts with funky, bright fabrics that you won’t see in many other places. Our belts feature many different buckle styles including oversized rhinestone, flower shaped tortoise, chunky black oval, wooden rings and brightly colored rings. Many of our belts are reversible, so you’ve got two belts in one! So join ladies up and down the East Coast who’ve “got Fruit Punch” and are having a ball wearing it!
